No doubting it, Ottawa and Streator make good sister cities. My best, best girlfriend was from Ottawa. We used to be weekend regulars at the lounge of the "The Ottawa Inn". The crowd there was amazing when J . J . D i c k e n s played the joint. I never was a country fan until that point. Guessing that's what Bud Lite, live music, a dance floor, and the right woman will do to a guy, eh? Nothing quite like a "Waltz Across Texas" with ma sweets at 1:30 AM. So many GREAT memories made in Ottawa, as well as hanging at "The Hatch" and "Flamingo". Of course, we Streatorites always had to be extra careful to get past the G. R. cop on the way home at 3:00 AM on Friday and Saturday nights.

Yes, that GR cop is a killer. I recommend going right at the school, then left will take you out to?near Kangley. Better to avoid the jerk.

Well I was born and raised in Streator and have also lived in Ottawa for a brief period of time. I think they are BOTH great towns.

I like Ottawa's downtown. Very nice. And Riverfest. So much more than Streator, although I do love Streator, Ottawa has a lot more.
